Position: PHP Developer/Web Developer

Combined Media are a digital development agency specialising in the design and development of highly usable interactive applications. We work with major blue chip clients and our work is used everyday in retail stores, hospitals, online and mobile by many thousands of people.
Combined Media have an opening for a dynamic and experienced individual to work as a PHP Web Developer as part of our development team. We are looking for someone who has good analytical skills as well as having a strong UI design appreciation. The PHP Web Developer will be part of a team responsible for the development of websites that use web-service applications, primarily in PHP on a Windows platform. This position will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work in an exciting environment and to develop applications that are at the cutting edge of technology and responsive design.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of websites that use web-service applications, primarily in PHP
- Responsible for the delivery and management of each stage in the project lifecycle of web applications, front-end interfaces and framework components
Required Skills:
- Ability to work within a team but also to take responsibility for delivering goals
- Excellent analytical and programming skills
- Ability to produce production-level code
- Familiarity with testing and debugging techniques
- Knowledge of issues which affect website security
Strong command of the following:
- PHP 5.3+
- MySQL 5
- Javascript and Javascript frameworks - esp. jQuery, AJAX and REST or SOAP
- OOP
Some experience of the following would be advantageous:
- CodeIgnitor or a similar PHP framework
- Front-end framework such as Twitter Bootstrap or Foundation
- ExpressionEngine or similar PHP based CMS
- Integration with payment service providers
- Windows 2008 Server / IIS7
- Agile / ScRUM
Qualifications/Experience:
BSCS/MSCS equivalent with 3+ years of relevant web programming experience, or 6+ years with PHP and MySQL
