DEXA referral system

One of the key issues associated with any GP referral is the time it takes to get processed and the relevance of the information. Too often secondary care have to go back to GPs and clarify or obtain additional information, further delaying appointments.

Taksed with this, Combined Media designed and developed a system that allowed GPs to refer patients using a simple online system. This system guaranteed them an answer within 24 hours, and then allowed them to review and monitor progress for each referral. For the hospital staff, they now receive a complete referral with all relevant information in a digital format – no more trying to decipher handwriting! They also have an inbuilt scoring and triage mechanism with an ‘Accept’ or ‘Reject’ button which automatically notifies the GP of their action further speeding up the whole process.
The result has been a massive saving in time and overhead and there are plans to roll out a similar system to other specialities throughout the country.
