Process

1

We ask a lot of questions!

Someone once said that we have two ears and only one mouth, so perhaps we should listen twice as much as we speak! Well we begin by listening to you, your expectations for the site and your vision of how it fits your overall web strategy. We don’t touch a pixel until we have a clear picture of what it is you want to achieve. We have a reputation for quickly seeing things from the perspective of your business. We’ll help you set goals for the site in relation to design, usability, timelines, deployment and ultimately attracting the users you want to connect with.

2

Sketch out ideas & plan

At Combined Media we try to take as much of the onus and work off you as possible. We won’t present you with a blank page and ask you to go off and produce site structures and content. We feel it’s much easier to talk about something rather than nothing! So we’ll create mock up designs, suggestions for content layout and site structure. We’ll write your copy if you want, or shape your existing content into a web friendly format. At that point we’ll sit down with you for your feedback.

3

Design

At Combined Media we use an agile development process. This involves getting back to the customer often with ideas, designs and progress. This is a very risk free process for the customer as any areas they don’t like or want can be quickly flagged and removed or changed. We have a reputation for front end designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and very user-friendly. We pay close attention to the logic of using the site and identify and fix any areas where the usability is not immediately intuitive.

4

Build

The in-house Combined Media team allows us great flexibility when it come to building the site. We have people covering every aspect of the process; graphic design, illustration, animation, rich media, application development, front-end design, usability design, HTML, CSS, XML, database and server side technologies. Our excellent project management and job progress transparency keep you in touch with developments at all stages of the process.

5

Deploy, manage and grow

Creating and building the site isn’t the final stage of the process. The site needs monitoring and development to grow and we can evaluate it’s performance, though analytical tools and make changes and tweaks to improve it. For example experiments such as split testing can be carried out to compare the effectiveness of two different designs.
